With less than a week of voting to go, our friend Destiny has made it into the Top 20 in the FHM "Digital Darlings" contest. Thanks to all of you who have supported her so far, and I'd ask all of you to take a minute to Give Destiny a "10" Vote. The top 20 girls get to travel to a tropical island to do an FHM photo shoot, so it would be cool if she can stay in the top 20 for the last week. Vote early and often!
Sadly, looks like none of my endorsed candidates made it into the finals for Maxim Hometown Hotties... well, still exciting to have a few pictures on the site and know a few of the contenders. Maybe next year...

Maxim Bumper Crop

It's the 10th week of the Maxim Hometown Hotties competition, which is the last week of the first round. The top vote getters will move on to semi-finals, which may involve more public voting, but I'm not sure. Another model I've worked with is in this week's competition, so be sure to stop by and vote for Sheena early and often before next monday. She submitted one of my shots and two from Andrew Nicholson. Andrew's look great, as always, but I'm a little confused about mine. The original image was the full-body shot (at top) and someone decided to crop it for a thumnail (at left), which is OK, but when you click the thumbnail, you just get a somewhat enlarged version of the thumnail, with an extended black background at the top and right. I don't really know what she submitted, or why they did it this way, but don't hold it against her and please take a minute to vote for her. She's good people.
Here's one of my favorite shots of Sheena with Destiny. Destiny is still in the running over at the FHM Digital Darlings competition which goes on for almost 3 more weeks, so please stop by and vote for her whenever you're surfing around online. The voting is a 1-10 scale, but it's structured so that not only can you vote Destiny as a "10" but you can go through and vote everyone else a "1" if you have that kind of time on your hands. I'm not suggesting it, but as far as these kinds of contests go, it doesn't seem like a very fair system. Maybe FHM just figures that if someone is going to go through and vote against people, that still increases the traffic for the purposes of calculating their advertising rates, which is really the name of the game. Sort of like "American Idol" voting where the big winner is... the phone companies. Nevertheless, with your help, maybe Sheena and Destiny will win big.

More voting fun...
Destiny has been chosen for another online contest, this time FHM Online "Digital Darlings" and again chose one of my shots for her entry. Please take a moment and go vote for her... a few "10" votes from this blog's readers should help put her over the top. And believe it or not, this time they actually gave me a photo credit! In a few weeks, we'll find out how Destiny did in the Maxim Hometown Hotties contest, but in the meantime, another model I've worked with is in this week's voting, so please stop by and cast a vote for Jenna, even though she didn't use my photos in her entry. :) Here is a shot from a group thing early last year. Well, I didn't say I worked with her recently.

Another Hottie to vote for...

Maxim has posted this week's candidates for their Hometown Hotties contest, and the lovely Jenn Thomas is among them. Had the opportunity to work with Jenn at a group shoot last year, and she was incredible, both as a model and just as a sweet, smart, funny, energetic person who was there to work. I think we shot at least ten different outfits (almost unheard of at a group shoot) and she gave it her all. She's doing quite well for herself, and is working internationally, too. She sort of combines the best features of Liz Hurley and Terri Hatcher, so I would not be at all surprised to see her on TV or in the movies someday. I hope you'll all take a minute and vote for Jenn a few times this week.

Please vote!
Edit 3/5: Thanks to everyone who voted! Hard to say if round one voting has finished, but round two has begun. Keep your fingers crossed!
Well, looks like voting has started on this year's Maxim Hometown Hotties contest, and three of my shots are on Destiny's Voting Page. Please take a couple minutes and visit the link and cast your vote for Destiny (above)... I've also worked with another contestant, Brittany, so please be sure to vote for her, even though she's not using my pictures. ;)
Thanks for your support!

Destiny: Maxim

Got word that one of the models I worked with last year, Miss Destiny, will be one of Maxim Magazine's "Hometown Hotties" for 2007, and she tells me that one (or more) of my images will be published in the magazine, as well as on their website. Sounds like the one they'll most likely be using is the bottom one here. Now, generally Maxim doesn't pay or even credit photographers for this kind of thing, but if it happens, it will be a nice tearsheet, and I'm pretty excited.
Destiny is quite a girl... among other things, she's a motorcycle "stunter" meaning she assumes various dangerous positions hanging off of a motorcycle while the rider does assorted tricks and maneuvers. Sort of like trick horse riding, but on a motorcycle with one or two other people on it. Looks really dangerous and she's gotten some serious "road rash" more than once. Hope she's all healed up if we have to shoot again!
Did get three shots in last year's Maxim Hottie's online voting with the lovely Clara Turk... but sadly she didn't make it into the print edition. She and I are overdue for another shoot, come to think of it.
